This policy applies during the initial Resomix production beta and may be updated as the Service develops.

1. PURPOSE AND SCOPE

1.1 Community Standards

This Acceptable Use Policy establishes the community standards and behavioural expectations for all users of the Resomix platform. These guidelines exist to ensure a positive, respectful, and productive environment for everyone in our community of DJs, producers, music enthusiasts, and industry professionals. Resomix is live in production as a beta service during its initial three-month beta period. These community standards apply equally to all users and access levels, including any paid plans if and when they are activated.

1.2 Platform Integrity

Maintaining the integrity of our platform is essential to providing reliable, high-quality music discovery services powered by our proprietary PYXIS-1 engine. This policy helps protect both our technical infrastructure — including our proprietary algorithmic technology, sonic profiles, and similarity datasets — and the experience of our users.

1.3 User Safety

We are committed to creating a safe environment where users can discover and enjoy music without encountering harmful, abusive, or illegal content or behaviour.

2. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES

The following activities are strictly prohibited on the Resomix platform:

2.1 Copyright Infringement

Uploading audio without sufficient rights to submit it for the requested analysis or catalogue processing. Note: audio submitted as a Temporary Reference Upload is retained only for processing and deleted no later than 24 hours after upload or analysis; it is never made publicly available or shared with other users. Audio supplied to a Private Resomix Library or under a partner catalogue arrangement may be retained for the duration necessary to provide the authorised catalogue-analysis and discovery service, is logically isolated, and is restricted to authorised access

Claiming ownership of content you did not create

Removing or altering copyright notices or attribution

Circumventing digital rights management, technical protection measures, or intended media-access controls (including stream-protection, token or access-restriction mechanisms)

Attempting to extract, download, or reproduce catalogue content from the platform beyond the permitted streaming playback functionality

2.2 Unauthorised Access

Accessing accounts, systems, or data without authorisation

Attempting to access another customer’s or partner’s Private Resomix Library, partner catalogue content or account data (cross-tenant access attempts)

Attempting to bypass security measures or access controls

Exploiting vulnerabilities in our systems

Interfering with or disrupting the security of the Service

2.3 Data Scraping and Harvesting

Using automated tools to collect data from the platform without permission

Scraping, crawling, or indexing content for unauthorised purposes

Harvesting user information or personal data

Building databases from our catalogue, recommendation data, sonic profiles, similarity scores, or audio feature data

Systematically querying the platform to reverse-engineer PYXIS-1’s sonic profiling or similarity matching methodology

2.4 Reverse Engineering

Attempting to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble our software, algorithms, or the PYXIS-1 engine

Analysing recommendation outputs, similarity scores, or audio feature data to extract proprietary methods, algorithmic weighting, or similarity scoring formulas

Creating derivative works based on our technology, sonic profiles, or similarity datasets

Attempting to access source code, trade secrets, or proprietary implementation details

Reproducing or approximating PYXIS-1’s functionality using data or outputs obtained from the platform

2.5 Malicious Code

Uploading or transmitting viruses, malware, or harmful code

Introducing code designed to damage, interfere with, or compromise systems

Attempting denial of service attacks

Deploying bots or automated scripts without authorisation

2.6 Spam and Abuse

Sending unsolicited messages or communications

Creating fake accounts or duplicate accounts

Manipulating engagement metrics or gaming the system

Engaging in coordinated inauthentic behaviour

2.7 Impersonation

Impersonating another person, artist, or entity

Creating accounts using someone else’s identity

Misrepresenting your affiliation with any person or organisation

Using misleading usernames or profile information

2.8 Illegal Activities

Using the Service for any illegal purpose

Facilitating illegal transactions or activities

Violating any applicable laws or regulations, including copyright law, data protection law, and music licensing requirements

Using the Service to circumvent music licensing requirements or to avoid compensating rights holders through authorised distribution channels

Promoting or encouraging illegal activities

2.9 Circumvention of Restrictions

Bypassing geographic or other access restrictions

Circumventing usage limits or quotas

Evading account suspensions or terminations

Manipulating systems to gain unauthorised access or privileges

2.10 Misuse of Similarity Analysis

The PYXIS-1 similarity analysis feature is provided for legitimate music discovery purposes. The following uses of the similarity analysis feature are prohibited:

Uploading audio with the intent to identify and systematically copy or replicate the sonic characteristics of commercial recordings

Using similarity results to create counterfeit or knock-off recordings designed to divert traffic from original works

Systematically uploading large volumes of audio to map the platform’s catalogue or extract proprietary similarity data

Using the similarity analysis feature to identify works for the purpose of filing fraudulent copyright claims against original creators

Manipulating or misrepresenting similarity results for commercial advantage or to mislead other users

2.11 Subscription, Quota and API Key Abuse

Automated bulk submission of audio through the consumer interface (bulk processing is available only under an applicable plan or written agreement)

Sharing, selling, or transferring API keys or account credentials to third parties

Circumventing quotas, metering or bulk-processing limits that apply under the relevant plan or agreement, including by creating multiple free accounts to evade upload limits

Reselling, sublicensing, or white-labelling Service outputs without a written agreement

Any breach of this Section 2.11 is also a breach of Terms of Service §4A.6 and may result in suspension of paid features and enforcement under Section 5 of this Policy

3.1 Appropriate Content

When creating and sharing playlists, users should ensure content is appropriate and compliant with our Terms of Service. Playlists should be created for legitimate music discovery purposes. Playback of Apple Music-linked tracks in the current beta experience is delivered through Apple Music, subject to Apple’s applicable terms. Playlists are for personal discovery purposes only and may not be used for commercial purposes, public performance, or distribution outside the Service.

3.2 Playlist Naming

Playlist names and descriptions should not contain offensive, misleading, or inappropriate content. Names should accurately reflect the playlist content and not infringe on trademarks or impersonate official sources.

3.3 Respect for Others

Users should respect the community when sharing content. Do not create playlists designed to harass, mock, or target individuals. Be respectful of artists and their work.

3.4 Third-Party Content and External Links

Users should not share links to illegal streaming sites, unauthorised download sources, or any external resource that facilitates copyright infringement. Resomix is not responsible for content on third-party websites, and the inclusion of a link in a playlist description or user communication does not imply endorsement by Resomix.

4. REPORTING VIOLATIONS

4.1 How to Report

If you encounter content or behaviour that violates this policy, please report it to us at [email protected] with the subject line “AUP Violation Report.”

4.2 Information to Include

When reporting a violation, please include:

Description of the violation

Location of the violating content (URL, playlist name, username)

Any relevant screenshots or evidence

Your contact information for follow-up

4.3 Response Timeline

We review all reports and aim to acknowledge receipt within two (2) business days, with a substantive response or investigation update provided within five (5) business days. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly. Due to privacy and confidentiality considerations, we may not be able to share specific enforcement actions taken against other users.

5. ENFORCEMENT

5.1 Investigation Process

When we become aware of potential violations, we will investigate the matter. This may include reviewing account activity, examining content, and gathering relevant information.

5.2 Potential Actions

Enforcement actions will be proportionate to the severity and nature of the violation, taking into account factors including the user’s history, the intent behind the conduct, and the impact on other users and rights holders. Depending on these factors, we may take one or more of the following actions:

Issuing a warning with a clear description of the violation and expected corrective action

Removing or disabling access to violating content

Temporarily suspending account access (including paid features) for a defined period

Permanently terminating the account

Reporting to law enforcement if illegal activity is suspected

Pursuing legal remedies to protect Resomix’s intellectual property, platform integrity, or the rights of third parties

5.3 Appeal Procedure

If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal by contacting [email protected] with the subject line “Enforcement Appeal.” Include your username, a description of the action taken, and your reasons for appealing. We aim to acknowledge receipt of your appeal within two (2) business days and to provide a substantive decision within ten (10) business days. Appeals are reviewed by a different team member than the original decision-maker to ensure impartiality. During the appeal process, any temporary account suspension will remain in effect unless otherwise determined during the review.
