1. INTRODUCTION AND COMMITMENT
Section titled “1. INTRODUCTION AND COMMITMENT”1.1 Purpose of This Policy
Section titled “1.1 Purpose of This Policy”This Music Content & Licensing Transparency Policy (the “Policy”) explains the sources of music content presented on Resomix, the processing Resomix performs, and our approach to licensing. Resomix is live in production as a beta service during its initial three-month beta period. Resomix searches its own pre-analysed sonic index. The index may include customer-authorised Private Library tracks, partner-authorised catalogue tracks and a growing collection of Apple Music-linked tracks already analysed by Resomix. Apple MusicKit supports catalogue metadata, previews and authorised playback presentation within the current beta experience. This Policy documents current content presentation (Section 2A), the historical demo-phase CC BY 4.0 catalogue (Section 2), and the development provenance of the PYXIS-1 engine (Section 4A).
1.2 Our Transparency Commitment
Section titled “1.2 Our Transparency Commitment”Resomix is committed to operating with complete transparency regarding the sources, licensing terms, and permissible uses of all music content on our platform. The rigorous compliance demonstrated during our demo phase establishes the foundation for trustworthy partnerships with rights holders, distributors, and the broader music industry. This Policy is intended to provide rights holders, potential licensing partners, and users with clear visibility into our content sourcing practices, licensing compliance, and the pathway toward full commercial catalogue partnerships.
2A. CURRENT CONTENT PRESENTATION — PRE-ANALYSED INDEX AND APPLE MUSICKIT
Section titled “2A. CURRENT CONTENT PRESENTATION — PRE-ANALYSED INDEX AND APPLE MUSICKIT”Resomix presents catalogue content in the current beta experience through its own pre-analysed sonic index. Playback of Apple Music-linked tracks occurs through Apple Music and requires the user’s own Apple Music subscription where applicable; previews and playback presentation are delivered via Apple MusicKit under Apple’s applicable terms. Apple MusicKit does not perform PYXIS-1 analysis, generate Resomix sonic profiles or calculate Resomix similarity rankings. Customer-authorised Private Resomix Libraries and partner-authorised catalogue content are processed under the applicable account terms or a separate written partner agreement; such content is logically isolated and restricted to authorised access. Apple Music is a trademark of Apple Inc. Resomix is not affiliated with, endorsed by or partnered with Apple.
2. HISTORICAL DEMO-PHASE CONTENT SOURCES (CC BY 4.0)

Section titled “2.1 Overview”During our earlier demo phase, the music content presented on the Resomix platform was licensed under CC BY 4.0 (Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International). The demo catalogue consisted of a limited number of tracks sourced from verified CC BY 4.0 repositories. This section is preserved as the historical record of that phase.
2.2 Content Sources
Section titled “2.2 Content Sources”All demo-phase tracks were sourced from the following verified platforms and repositories, filtered to include only CC BY 4.0 licensed content:
Openverse: Open-licensed media aggregator operated by WordPress Foundation, providing access to CC-licensed audio content from multiple verified sources.
Free Music Archive (FMA): Curated collection of high-quality CC-licensed music spanning multiple genres, maintained for public access and creative use.
Jamendo Music: Independent artist platform hosting creator-uploaded CC-licensed content with verified licensing metadata.
Internet Archive Audio Collection: Non-profit digital library providing access to historical and contemporary CC-licensed recordings with provenance documentation.
2.3 Licence Verification
Section titled “2.3 Licence Verification”Resomix verified that all content in the demo catalogue was properly licensed exclusively under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence through a multi-step verification process: (a) initial filtering at the source platform level to include only CC BY 4.0-designated content; (b) review of individual track licensing metadata prior to ingestion into the Resomix catalogue; and (c) exclusion of any tracks where licensing status was ambiguous, disputed, or unverifiable. To maintain total licensing consistency, tracks under other Creative Commons variants — including those with ShareAlike (SA), NonCommercial (NC), or NoDerivatives (ND) restrictions — as well as Public Domain (CC0) designations, were explicitly excluded. This deliberate exclusion ensured uniform compliance across the entire demo catalogue.
3. CC BY 4.0 LICENCE TERMS

Section titled “3.1 Licence Overview”The Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0) governed all demo-phase content and continues to govern any CC BY 4.0-licensed material made available on the platform. It is a permissive licence that allows broad use of the licensed material, subject to attribution requirements.
3.2 Permitted Uses Under CC BY 4.0
Section titled “3.2 Permitted Uses Under CC BY 4.0”Under the CC BY 4.0 licence, users are permitted to:
Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format for any purpose, including commercial purposes.
Adapt: Remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercial purposes.
3.3 Licence Condition: Attribution

NoDerivatives (ND): Modifications and adaptations ARE permitted under CC BY 4.0

4A. TECHNOLOGY TRANSPARENCY

Section titled “4A.1 PYXIS-1 Engine Overview”All music discovery and recommendation features on the Resomix platform are powered by our proprietary PYXIS-1 engine. PYXIS-1 is a proprietary Python-based algorithmic system that performs specific pre-processing of audio files and analyses more than 70 measurable audio characteristics using established audio-analysis utilities — including Librosa, Essentia, Madmom, FFmpeg and other documented audio-analysis utilities — combined with private Resomix code to create sonic profiles for each audio file and calculate similarity relationships between them.
4A.2 Technology Classification
Section titled “4A.2 Technology Classification”PYXIS-1 is not a trained machine-learning model or neural-network system: it does not train or fine-tune itself using user or partner audio, does not adapt from user interactions, and does not generate, synthesise or recreate audio. The same source audio processed with the same PYXIS-1 version and processing configuration produces the same sonic profile; similarity rankings are reproducible against the same index version and ranking configuration, and results may change when the searchable catalogue, index or engine version is updated.
4A.3 Development Practices
Section titled “4A.3 Development Practices”The PYXIS-1 engine was developed and tuned over approximately one year using openly licensed CC BY 4.0 test material. Catalogue content in the pre-analysed index is analysed by PYXIS-1 for discovery purposes; it is not used to train or fine-tune the engine (PYXIS-1 does not train on data). Documentation of our development methodology may be made available to rights holders upon reasonable request and subject to execution of an appropriate non-disclosure agreement.
4. RATIONALE FOR OPEN SOURCE CONTENT IN THE DEMO PHASE

Section titled “4.1 Strategic Purpose”Resomix elected to use CC BY 4.0 licensed content during the demo phase for the following strategic and ethical reasons:
Legal and Ethical Demonstration: To demonstrate our algorithmic audio analysis technology in a manner fully compliant with copyright law and respectful of creators’ rights.
Industry Trust Building: To establish credibility and trust with potential rights-holder partners by demonstrating our commitment to proper licensing from the outset.
Technology Validation: To validate our proprietary PYXIS-1 recommendation engine using legally available content before seeking commercial licensing agreements. The demo phase demonstrated the engine’s ability to surface relevant content based purely on sonic characteristics — the same capability that, when applied to commercially licensed catalogues, addresses the industry challenge whereby a significant proportion of catalogue tracks generate minimal revenue due to poor discoverability through traditional metadata-based search.
Transparency Demonstration: To show potential partners that Resomix operates with full transparency regarding content sources and licensing compliance, and that our approach to commercial catalogue management is built on the same principles of rigorous licensing compliance demonstrated during the demo phase.
4.2 Commitment to Legal Compliance
Section titled “4.2 Commitment to Legal Compliance”Resomix maintains an absolute commitment to intellectual property compliance. Playback of commercial recordings in the current beta experience is delivered through Apple Music under Apple’s applicable terms. Engine development and testing used openly licensed CC BY 4.0 material (PYXIS-1 is not a trained machine-learning model and does not train on catalogue or user audio). Partner catalogue processing takes place only under a separate written agreement with the rights holder. This commitment extends to all aspects of our platform operations, including content display and user interactions.
5. PATH TO COMMERCIAL LICENSING PARTNERSHIPS

Section titled “5.1 Partnership Development”Resomix is actively building partnerships with music distributors, record labels, and independent artists to expand catalogue activation through well-executed licensing agreements. Rights holders interested in exploring partnership opportunities are invited to contact us at [email protected]. Initial discussions are conducted under mutual non-disclosure agreements to protect each party’s confidential information.
5.2 Direct Catalogue Partnerships
Section titled “5.2 Direct Catalogue Partnerships”Direct ingestion and activation of partner catalogues will occur only after appropriate licensing agreements are in place with rights holders. The partnership pathway includes: (a) execution of distribution partnership agreements with individual rights holders, specifying catalogue scope, territory, revenue sharing terms, and reporting obligations; (b) technical onboarding of licensed content through secure delivery channels, with content-verification measures planned as part of the onboarding workflow; (c) activation of the PYXIS-1 engine against licensed catalogues to generate sonic profiles and similarity relationships; and (d) launch of discovery and recommendation features for licensed content. This phased approach ensures that catalogue partnerships are built on a foundation of proper licensing.
File-based catalogue ingestion is live today, and structured CSV manifest workflows are under active implementation. All partner catalogue processing requires a separate written agreement.
6. PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR RIGHTS HOLDERS

Section titled “6.1 Invitation to Partner”Resomix welcomes discussions with distributors, labels, and artists interested in exploring partnership opportunities. Our platform offers unique value through our proprietary recommendation technology, which can surface catalogue content that traditional discovery methods often overlook.
6.2 Partnership Models
Section titled “6.2 Partnership Models”We offer flexible partnership structures to accommodate the diverse needs of rights holders. Upon execution of appropriate licensing agreements, the following partnership models will be available:

6.3 Partner Benefits

Enhanced catalogue visibility through PYXIS-1-powered sonic discovery across 70+ audio characteristics
Activation of back-catalogue and long-tail content that traditional metadata-based discovery methods often overlook
Structural audio segmentation (e.g., intro, drop, outro) for enhanced matching precision within electronic music catalogues
Access to engagement analytics and structured reporting (DDEX-aligned reporting is a planned roadmap capability)
Complete catalogue control, including opt-outs, territory restrictions, and pricing authority
Flexible, non-exclusive partnership structures agreed per partnership
Commercial terms for Catalogue Licensing, White-Label Integration and B2B licensing of the PYXIS-1 engine are agreed per partnership under separate written terms.
7. USER RESPONSIBILITIES
Section titled “7. USER RESPONSIBILITIES”7.1 Compliance with Licence Terms
Section titled “7.1 Compliance with Licence Terms”Users of the Resomix platform are responsible for understanding and complying with the licensing terms applicable to any content they access, share, or adapt through the platform. Playback of Apple Music-linked tracks in the current beta experience is delivered through Apple Music and is subject to Apple’s terms of service. Where CC BY 4.0-licensed content is made available, the licence information is displayed in the platform interface and the CC BY 4.0 terms in Section 3 apply.
7.2 Attribution Requirements
Section titled “7.2 Attribution Requirements”When sharing or adapting CC BY 4.0 licensed content from our platform, users must provide appropriate attribution as specified by the licence. This includes crediting the original creator, providing a link to the licence, and indicating if modifications were made. Attribution requirements are displayed alongside each track’s information.
7.3 Commercial Use
Section titled “7.3 Commercial Use”Content licensed under CC BY 4.0 may be used for commercial purposes, provided that proper attribution is given to the original creator. Users are responsible for ensuring their use complies with the attribution requirements specified in Section 3.3 of this Policy. Catalogue content presented in the beta experience may NOT be extracted, reused, or redistributed; playback is available through the authorised Apple Music channel only.
8. PLATFORM ATTRIBUTION PRACTICES
Section titled “8. PLATFORM ATTRIBUTION PRACTICES”Resomix maintains attribution for CC BY 4.0-licensed content presented on the platform. For each such track, we display:
Creator/artist name
Track title
Licence type (CC BY 4.0) and link to licence terms
Source platform and original content URL (where applicable)
Any modifications made to the original work (if applicable)
Attribution metadata is captured during content ingestion and displayed in the platform interface. Catalogue onboarding currently combines automated steps with operator review, and structured CSV manifest workflows are under active implementation. For Apple Music-linked tracks, artist, title and source metadata are displayed as provided by Apple MusicKit.
9. REPORTING LICENSING CONCERNS

REPORTING LICENSING CONCERNS”If you believe any content on the Resomix platform is incorrectly attributed, improperly licensed, or infringes on your intellectual property rights, please contact us immediately at [email protected]. We take all licensing concerns seriously and will acknowledge receipt within two (2) business days, with a substantive response and resolution timeline provided within five (5) business days. For formal copyright complaints and takedown requests, please refer to our Copyright and DMCA Policy, which provides detailed procedures for submitting notices of alleged infringement.
